I started reading this letter to Carolyn Hax and was just |
|
stunned. I loved Hax's reply and was even happier to see it had |
|
an update from the original poster. I've gifted the article so |
|
you shouldn't hit a pay wall. |

Good outcome! Yeah, the mom was way over the top in her |
|
reaction. |
|
Planning a wedding is a fun game that very few people get 100% |
|
right. You always end up leaving someone off the list or |
|
including someone you shouldn't have. |
|
I think the bride handled it quite graciously. A little |
|
understanding and forgiveness go a long way. |

I read this article today also and thought Ms. Hax's reply was |
|
great. This Mom's update was great too. She was so far off in |
|
her response to the wedding invite. I would call that a |
|
"tempest in a teapot". Glad she has changed her outlook. |

My first thought, reading through the original letter was the |
|
same as Carolyns -- everyone else is fine with the situation, |
|
why hold a grudge? Let it go already. |
|
I liked Carolyns response. Very politely and succintly put at |
|
the same time gently letting the LW that she was in the wrong. |
|
Great response from the LW. |
