I'm a (step)Grandma!

My DsD and sSIL had a baby boy yesterday morning at 10:32. 8
pounds, 11 ounces! He was a little overcooked - almost a week
late. They'd planned to induce DsD today at 4:00, if she hadn't
gone naturally.
I spent the day yesterday making lasagna and rolls for their
freezer. Hoping to grab a bag-o-salad and deliver them today,
once they get home. Just a quick pop-in for all the appropriate
cooing noises and right back out again to leave them to bond as
a family.

happy baby to all!
Hopefully this one will take after a lot of "overcooked" and
large babies, and sleep really well.
Mine was about 6 days late, and 8/13, and she could fill up that
bigger stomach and sleep 8 hours. I hope this is a good "starter
baby" as well.

Oh, let's hope so - especially for the Mama's sake.

Hip! Hip! Hooray!
Congrats to you and your family. Seeing a new life in these
times of trouble truly brings joy and hope. I'm wishing you and
family the best.
P.S. Side story . . . both of my DDs were a week late. DD#1 was
born natural at 9lbs 3oz. When DD#2 came along the Dr. gave me
the exact same due date as her sister (two years later). Dr.
suggested inducement. Said the baby is healthy and ready. I
chose the date one day before DD#1's bday . . . didn't want them
to have the same bday, plus "Get her out of me NOW!" LOL! DD#2
was 9lbs 1oz.

Congratulations! How nice of you to make some prepped meals for
them. I cried when a friend left a lasagne for me when my first
kid was an infant... it was so thoughtful!

When we arrived for our visit, there was a bag that had been
dropped at the door. It was from one of her good friends, who
knew that they would be feeling overwhelmed and not up for
company, other than immediate family, so she just dropped and
ran.
DsD is so worried about telling people they aren't welcome to
visit. So many people are wanting to come see them this week.
Even without Covid, this week is too soon! Her parents-in-law
aren't even welcome because they haven't been vaccinated. She
is so stressed about possible blow back from their extended
family, she hasn't posted anything on Facebook yet. And has
asked us not to post anything. We're fine to let people know by
email or text or call; just no Facebook.
