Wedding gift for online wedding
By: Dr. F. Date: December 21, 2021, 9:03 pm

I've been invited to attend an online wedding for an old friend
and former coworker and his new boyfriend. I don't have any
issues with the online format - it's only reasonable in the
current situation. There's no way I'd fly to his location right
now.
However, they're not registered anywhere, and my friend is
significantly older than I am, so I am quite certain that they
have all of the basic housewares they might need. I'd still like
to send them a small token of my best wishes. Former coworker
and I went through hell at our former workplace, and there was a
definite bonding experience there, and I'm absolutely delighted
that he's found happiness after that experience.
Any suggestions for a small gift that can be easily shipped and
would be useful for a couple that has everything? My former
colleague is a retired librarian, if that helps.

photo frame. It can be used for a wedding photo.

My default present for friends who live a long way away and have
everything is a mail-order of something edible or drinkable - a
hamper of food treats or a case of wine. Hopefully they will
enjoy it, it wont clutter up their house, and at worst if
youve picked something that isn't to their taste they can just
give it away - they dont feel they have to store it in case you
visit them some day and expect to see it on display, as they
might with a gadget or an ornament.

Yup. I was going to suggest the same - something consumable. At
a certain point in people's lives, they just don't need more
stuff. So, food, wine/booze, or tickets to an event are the best
route.

I always turn to Etsy if I'm wanting something unique and easily
shipped. Look for things like personalized coasters, small
cutting boards or a Christmas ornament if you think they
celebrate Christmas. We were given a personalized world map. It
hangs in my husband's office and it marks off all the places
we've traveled to.
But I do agree that consumables are sometimes the best option.

I am pro consumable gifts. My mom was always delighted to get
fancy honey or tea. One year I did dried fruit from Harry and
David and that was a hit.
