A glitch in the Matrix or Mandela effect???
By: Dazi Date: May 17, 2021, 7:11 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
So, we've all experienced weird things that we remember, but end
up not being true.
I had a glitch in the matrix/Mandela effect moment a few days
ago. I went to pull into a gas station at the crossroads of an
intersection and there was nothing there but a grass field. I
swore there has been a gas station there for at least 10 years.
I asked a few friends about the missing gas station and they
were just as confused and also convinced there is absolutely
100% a gas station there on the north west corner of the
intersection. We are not confusing it with another location
either because the next major crossroad is 10 miles east and
there's a Walmart there.
So what screwy things have y'all had happen?

Some years ago my boss had the chairs in our client area
reupholstered. He contracted with a private party to do the job,
and the woman came to our office to pick up the bolt of cloth he
had picked out for the job. We looked in the office, in the
corners, moved stuff aside to search for that bolt of cloth but
we could not locate it. It was taller than we were, and bulky,
hard to miss. I called my boss and he came in (he lived 5
minutes away). He entered our office and reached out into thin
air. The second he put his hand on the bolt of cloth both the
woman and I suddenly saw it. It was leaning against a chair
directly in front of us, so close we could have kissed it. He
was understandably peeved, and we couldn't give him any
explanation as to why we couldn't find it before. I can't even
give a theory as to why that happened. I think about it
sometimes and shake my head, wondering about the weirdness of
the universe.

Peony, that’s not a glitch in the universe: that was just
one of Speiderlegg’s cousins.
I’ll explain. My family is afflicted - has been for three
generations - by a bad fairy who hitched a lift back with them
from a mountaineering holiday in Switzerland.
Speiderlegg’s MO is quite simply to take our property - a
hairbrush, a driving licence, a sweater - away from the place
where we KNOW we put it. Sometimes he deposits the stolen item
somewhere else in the house, in a place we know we didn’t
put it and would never have dreamt of putting it. Sometimes he
lets us ransack the house for days in ever-increasing
frustration and panic, then calmly puts it back in its proper
place, precisely where we first looked for it. And sometimes we
never see the item ever again.
Clearly, Speiderlegg has a relation working in Peony’s
office. Not sure about Dazi’s experience: if the American
branch of his family have ramped up their operations to the
extent of stealing whole petrol stations, that’s a whole
new level of fairy intervention you have over there!

I have started a lot of seedlings, for myself and for a sale
this coming weekend. My Dad's caregiver asked for some of them,
including kholrabi. I made up a tray for her, including the
kholrabi, that she took home.
When she showed up yesterday, she swears up and down that I
didn't give her kholrabi. But the thing is, I know I did.
There is a space in the tray where it would have been. She even
searched her car, thinking maybe she left it in there. No dice.
So I'll be giving her another pot of seedlings.

I have dropped things that vanish before my eyes before they hit
the floor and never to be seen again. For example, a key and a
ring just to name two.

Not long after Katrina, I took a trip to New Orleans. While
there, I lost my drivers license. We tore apart my wallet,
suitcase and hotel room looking for it, multiple times. I was
worried about how I would get through airport security. I did
have my recently expired passport though, so made it through
with that.
A year later, long after I had replaced it, I found my old
license in my wallet.

I think I've told this before, but we looked for a week for our
kitchen shears. We looked in every drawer and cabinet, even the
refrigerator. I finally gave up looking because I couldn't think
of another place to look. About that time, I walked into the
kitchen and they were right in the middle of the counter with
nothing around them. I asked my mom where she found them, and
she said she didn't. Nobody else had been in our house for days.

On a different note than above, funny things happen in my house,
which we just bought last year. Doors that were closed are open.
Lights on that were off. Some are easy to explain - tv coming on
randomly must be a neighbor with a similar remote. Garage door
closed when my husband stepped out for a moment. Deadbolt thrown
on a door that we left purposely unlocked. My husband and I each
thought the other was doing these things. Mostly this has all
stopped.
But yesterday right after my husband left for a week, a key
popped out of the buffet and went plink on the ground. Probably
just came loose from vibrations in the room, doors opening and
closing and its in a high traffic area. But after so many other
things I am of course suspicious.

Ah, yes! I have a colander that randomly disappears for months
at a time! Also lost a bottle of meds last week and flat out
demanded it be returned immediately. Plunk... Heard it land in
the living room on the side table. WTH??? And my personal
favorite, the bracelet. My husband gave me this beautiful
bracelet for our anniversary one year...it disappeared a few
years later. Turned the house upside down looking for it. More
than a year later, I went to get in my car after work and it
literally dropped out of the sky and hit me on the head.
Seriously!!!
I've asked several more people about the gas station. They all
said there's been one there for like a good 20 years! Only it
definitely isn't there anymore and no sign there was EVER a gas
station there. 🤦🤷

I told this story before, but back when cars had a key for the
doors and a separate key for the engine, somehow the door key
got lost for years.
My family wanted to sell the car but how without the key? Soon
after, I opened a closet door and the key fell out from nowhere.
