What do I Thank her For?

A close freind sent a beautiful Hanukkah gift to me and I don't
know what to thank her for.
The container was a drawstring cloth bag printed with
snowflakes. Inside were two flat pieces of fabric each 18.5" X
33" similar to bedsheet fabric but not cotton.
She cross stitched snowflakes on half of each fabric to match
the bag.
Very lovely and thoughtful BUT they are not placemats nor
napkins. They are too large for dishtowels and too small for
table runners.
What in the world do I thank her for?

Linen hand towels? Something like this, only with snowflakes
instead of posy baskets?

Embroidered towels like this are a big thing in Eastern
Europe, not only for use but for ornament and ceremony - e.g. if
you offer bread and salt to an honoured guest, you present them
on your best embroidered towel, and you might hang one over a
family photo on the wall, with the decorated ends hanging down.
If your friends roots are from anywhere east of Vienna, that
could well be what these are.

I love the suggestions already provided. But I wonder if this is
a friend who is close enough to spend time making and sending
these to you, if this friend might be close enough to just ask.
"Thank you for the thoughtful gift; your stitch work is
beautiful. I feel silly asking, but how should I use them?"
There might be better wording, but I might just ask. Most of my
friends would just have a good laugh and explain.
