The Royal Wedding: Prince Harry & Meghan Markle
By: Octavia Date: May 14, 2018, 7:44 pm

Who else is going to be glued to the TV, social media, or both
this Saturday to watch the royal wedding? I'm setting my alarm
to wake up at 3 am 'cause of living in the USA.
I'm excited to see the happy couple on their special day, and
the flowers, and everyone around them celebrating, and of course
the fascinators & hats! Hoping Prince Philip will be well enough
to attend. And very much holding my breath that Meghan's family
of origin can behave themselves :P

I've been speculating this would happen but waited until a more
reliable news source said something. Looks like Meghan Markle's
father may not attend the ceremony after his recent PR
shenanigans. It's bad enough to have to deal with difficult
family when planning a wedding, and much worse to have it
splashed all over the news. Who believes Mr. Markle was
disinvited, and if so do you agree with that decision?

Why would he have been disinvited? ???

After reading a few articles, I dont think he was disinvited. I
think he is just uncomfortable and is wavering about attending.
I read hes an introvert and I cannot imagine the stress of
meeting the Queen, et. Al.
Plus he had a heart attack a few days ago.
I know hes likely embarrassed to be caught arranging with
paparazzi to photograph him but I dont see the big deal.
Celebrities and even Princess Di have done the same. I really
hope he goes and walks her down the aisle. He seems like a sweet
man and a loving father. (If thats what she wants.)
I do wish someone could get her sister and brother to just shut
up! They are just embarrassing themselves.

I don't follow this closely but at first I thought, once it came
to light, that he was a part of a deliberate plot with the
photographer to sell the photographs and split the proceeds. But
today I have come to think it might have been nothing but
ignorance on his part, that he was caught unawares of the
viciousness and tenacity of the press as regards the royal
family and anything around their circle. Whether he was involved
in a plan or not, he got caught in the press cyclone and
everything went wildly out of control. It seems like he might be
in a lot of pain, especially as it revolves around his
relationship with his daughter. I actually feel for him and for
her. I can barely imagine being caught in something like that. I
hope she persuades him to be with her.

I agree Amara. His other daughter said the picture were her
idea, to try and show him in a better light after some
unflattering ones. Honestly, I think they were kind of sweet.
And definitely dont think he did this for money. (But think
other daughter is not helping anyone be.)

I don't think any of Mr. Markle's other children are helping in
any way. Good heavens, his son (Meghan's half brother) wrote an
open letter to Prince Harry telling him it wasn't too late to
change his mind about the marriage, and is now begging for an
invitation!

For anyone else in the US.....CNN will be broadcasting LIVE from
10 pm on Friday, May 18 all the way up to the wedding. ;D
I'll be watching parts of it, but then I have a date with
friends to see Deadpool 2. ;D ;D ;D
There's also a show on NBC tomorrow (Wednesday, May 16) at 10pm
eastern on how the wedding itself gets pulled together.

I think it might be interesting to watch but I simply cannot
imagine getting up at 3:00 am (PST) on a Saturday after a long
work week to do so. Where's the ZZZZZZZ icon cause that's where
I'll be.

I plan to watch(the dress, the hats!), and wish them much
happiness.
The early hour is no problem, because I still wake at 5am, a
year after I retired.
