GPS WIRING HELP NEEDED |

thanks for reading, I'm leaving tomorrow for the COBDR... |
|
I'm considering wiring my GPS directly to the battery, which |
|
already has a cig lighter adapter wired directly to it as well. |
|
(I realize I will need to remember to shut the GPS off every |
|
time I stop.) |
|
I'm planning on using ring terminals to connect to the battery |
|
posts, on top of the ones that are already on there from the cig |
|
lighter adapter. |
|
Does anybody have any advice on this? I have a new battery and |
|
am off on a two week trip. Will probably take it off when I get |
|
back, but don't want to short anything out, blow fuses or god |
|
forbid catch on fire while I'm out there. |
|
I'm trying to keep it simple as I'm leaving tomorrow and am |
|
hoping this will not cause problems. |
|
Anybody have any experience with this on a 690? Thanks for any |
|
advice! |

There are two power free connections behind the headlight |
|
shroud. One switched & one not switched. |
