GPS WIRING HELP NEEDED
By: Frank Black Date: July 30, 2016, 1:58 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
thanks for reading, I'm leaving tomorrow for the COBDR...
I'm considering wiring my GPS directly to the battery, which
already has a cig lighter adapter wired directly to it as well.
(I realize I will need to remember to shut the GPS off every
time I stop.)
I'm planning on using ring terminals to connect to the battery
posts, on top of the ones that are already on there from the cig
lighter adapter.
Does anybody have any advice on this? I have a new battery and
am off on a two week trip. Will probably take it off when I get
back, but don't want to short anything out, blow fuses or god
forbid catch on fire while I'm out there.
I'm trying to keep it simple as I'm leaving tomorrow and am
hoping this will not cause problems.
Anybody have any experience with this on a 690? Thanks for any
advice!

There are two power free connections behind the headlight
shroud. One switched & one not switched.

It's no wonder that Vell has such a responsive membership that
it can get there.
