home made rack
By: doniton2 Date: January 27, 2015, 5:03 pm

I decided I had nothing better to do so I built my own rack. Im
not sure what soft bags Im going to get just yet so I just
spray bombed it. Once I decide Ill add some anchor points then
get it powder coated.

Super clean and Very well done. I have been thinking of doing my
own too. Just wondering what size/type of tubing did you used?
Many Thanks.

That looks very nice. I like the larger rear rack to strap gear
to.

.75-.06 DOM cold rolled. I didnt use crime Molly because
attaching to the plastic anchors in the tank and the aluminum
foot rest bracket might be to ridged and break one of them. I
would rather the rack bend a little than break one of them. I
have had it out and got to test it with a couple normal little
tip overs and all is good. Nothing bent or broke. I will be
doing some more playing with it in the woods today.

Beautiful, simply beautiful. Love the curves. What's the
weight?
Might be tempted to add some triangles in a smaller diameter
tube between the two lower support extensions from behind the
footpeg bolt-on points.
This would help reduce buckling if crunch point exceeded.
