| Tires for off-road only - the way the bike is supposed to be rid | |
| den! | |

| So what's every1's fav rubber for the dirt? I've tried the | |
| following...And just my opinions here.... | |
| Dunlop d606 front makes a good plant pot stand. Rear lasts ok | |
| but squat grip. | |
| Pirelli mt 18 rear only. Not bad. Not available anymore. | |
| Dunlop 752 rear only. Again not bad...not great but an ok all | |
| around tire. | |
| Mich desert. Tried both front and rear. Tough but little grip. | |
| Kinds Parker dt. Tough for desert racing, swapped from the mich | |
| to these and found them tough and far grippier. | |
| Mich ac10 only used these on the back on the exc, good grip but | |
| I chopped them out fast. Won't put them on the 690 as they'd be | |
| toast. Unless it's for a 24 hr enduro. | |
| Metz mc5 good both back and front. | |
| Bridgestone battle cross front. In a word, awesome! I have this | |
| on the front (again), and have a mich m-12 to try on the back. | |
| I run tubliss as well to cut the unsprung lbs. | |

| What size Front did you run on the Bridgestone Battlecross? I | |
| see they are avail 80/100 & 90/100. | |
| I have run the Michelin M12 with decent results. Just tried the | |
| MAXXIS MAXXCROSS EN M7314 - short knobs and hated this tire. | |
| Looking at the MotoZ Tractionator Enduro I/T, but they are | |
| 90/100 front and 130/90 rears. On paper they seem ever so | |
| slightly different in size - anyone have any input on these? | |

| You are running Tubliss? I thought that system was not wide | |
| enough for the 690 rim widths? I have an 18 and 21 I could | |
| install on my dirt only wheels. | |

| The best all round tires are: | |
| Bridgestone | |
| ED77 80/100x21 80 mm wide, 80 mm high (100 x 100%) | |
| ED78 120/100x18 120 mm wide, 120 mm high (120 x 100%) | |
| They fit good with the Koubalink KTM8-1. Does not hit the tank. | |
| The front holds in loose gravel better that any tire I have had | |
| on any bike. | |

| Hello guys, I have just returned to the 690ER world after 2 | |
| years with a 990 ADV. I had been running MT21 on my first 690, | |
| then Scorpion Rally on the 990, and now Scorpion Rally with bibs | |
| (foam, no tube) on the 690. Great grip in most situations, no | |
| problems on the road at moderate speeds, and no more tubes and | |
| tools and pump to carry. I expect ~5000k front and ~2500k rear | |
| durability, as I was getting slightly less with the 990. | |

| MT21 up front and MotoZ mountain Hybrid on back. Theres 7-8 of | |
| us running that set up now. We averaged 800-1000 miles out of | |
| the MT21 rear and are getting close to 3,000 out of the MotoZ. | |
| We ride mostly tight 2 track with some single track throughn in. | |
| They clean very well in MO mud/clay. I also run the Tubliss | |
| system and love it. | |

| Aside from the short tread life issue, has anyone found a rear | |
| tire on the 690 they like better than the MT-21? | |
| I do like the tire for 80-20 dirt-asphalt. Hooks up good for me | |
| and is pretty easy to change. | |

| Just over 150 road miles on the 690 now and heading to | |
| California in about six weeks. Going to take a new MT21 rear | |
| tire as a spare. For the price, and how in the past with my | |
| KXL650 I really appreciated good off-road traction, I'll stay | |
| with the MT21's for now. | |
| Certainly open to alternatives. | |

| Has anyone tried the IRC M5B ? I rode it down in Florida in the | |
| mud and sand 2 weekends ago on my KTM 300 and liked it alot. | |
| Rode quiet a few pavement miles and was impressed with the | |
| modest wear. | |
