The Icon 1000 Elsinore Boot. If you have to ride through the |

wasteland to the Thunderdome, accept no substitute. 8) |

They're not waterproof, that's the only downside I see. Also, |
|
they're not a full-on modern motocross boot either, but they're |
|
a lot more protective than the hiking boots I currently ride in. |

I have the black type of these. They look post apocalyptically |
|
cool, but like a lot of boots make it kind of hard to shift. |
|
Maybe if I moved the lever up, or maybe once they are more |
|
worn-in it would be better. |

Not unlike the motox boots I wore in the 70's when I was a |
|
kid...not as much steel protection. |
|
That being said, I started using Sidi cross fires back in |
|
2006... A hinged heal makes a very comfortable boot, and a more |
|
pointed toe (about the only way I can describe it), as opposed |
|
to the round toe, is a lot easier for shifting I find. |
|
Each to there own of course, and Icon does make very good stuff |
|

Cool looking. But 8 weeks in a cast a few times over the years |

will focus you a little more on protecion..... |
