So far, the only fully negative review of “Blade Runner 2049” I've seen
Jamie Zawinski [1] (of Netscape fame [2]) does not like “Blade Runner 2049”
[3]. I'm not sure if I hated it as much as he did [4], but I don't disagree
with anything he said.
He also brought up a point I forgot to mention in my original review—the
score. I loathed the score, and I'm sure if that's because I don't care for
the Hans Zimmer [5] horn—you know, that deep horn BRRRRRRRAAAAAWWWWRWRRRMR
MRMMRMRMMMMM [6] that is omnipresent in every one of his scores, or the fact
that the theater [7] had the volume cranked to 11 which was threatening to
blow out the speakers. Sure, there were moments when you could (BRRRRRRRAAAA
AWWWWRWRRRMRMRMMRMRMMMMM) hear the (BRRRRRRRAAAAAWWWWRWRRRMRMRMMRMRMMMMM)
original [8] (BRRRRRRRAAAAAWWWWRWRRRMRMRMMRMRMMMMM) Vangelis score [9] (which
added to the neo-noir [10] atmosphere of “Blade Runner [11]”), but such
moments (BRRRRRRRAAAAAWWWWRWRRRMRMRMMRMRMMMMM) were overshadowed by (BRRR
RRRRAAAAAWWWWRWRRRMRMRMMRMRMMMMM) Hans Zimmer's score (BRRRRRRRAAAAAWWWWRWR
RRMRMRMMRMRMMMMM).
I did not like that, Sam-I-am.
And I'm still conflicted if I liked “Blade Runner 2049 [12].”
