My friend, Rob, has me writing music. Rob is part of a community
that tries to write 14 songs in the month of February. He has been
encouraging me to try it out.
I have never written a song before and mostly play other people's
songs or just mess around with instruments. I also can't really
read music and don't know much theory, but my ear is ok.
This year, I decided to try to write music since I've never done it
before. This is what I have been doing over the past few weeks, so
I haven't been all that present at my usual online haunts. I
finished my first song and phosted it here in the gopher
underground. Pretty rough and unpolished, but will try to clean it
up m0ar later since I'm trying to write another song.
The song is called, "log_of_sound,"[1] and is about the DIY stomp
box[2] I built in the projects section of my gophersite. I also use
the DIY Cigar Box Guitar[3], which I built this past November.
I wasn't expecting a song like this but this is how it came out. It
reminds me of a gopher phost and it is spoken word. It was hard
for me to come up with something and put it together, but at least
I got something down.
