Also, my friend's OCC challenge has been using a butterfly keyboard
on a Macbook Pro. I don't envy them one bit. Definitely a harder
challenge than my eeePCish one. :-P

So for the past few days, I've been practically stuck with a
console, as I had no reason to do work while I was (and still am
at the time of this writing) in the UP.
I was bored more often, which was good for my sleep. I think I
spent a lot of time catching up on sleep. I think I slept for twelve
hours straight last night, and I slept a lot before then.
I think I'll be reading lots today. I brought the lastest copy of
_The AWK Programming Language_ with me, as well as _The C
Programming Language_ and _The Go Programming Language_. I don't
know any of these languages well, and I have an idea for a guestbook
that AWK would be perfect for. I know how to handle low level CGI,
so it wouldn't be too difficult.
Honestly, I also feel more focused on the terminal. No other windows
to distract. Just the text.
I also have a better understanding what it's like to be blind or
otherwise in need of alt text. I don't post much in the way of
images on fedi, but when I do I try to give good alt text. As a
result, I try not to boost images without alt text, but if there
was an image without alt text, well, I didn't know what was going
on. Can't say I'm rather big on that.
I could see myself doing this frequently even after the challenge.
Especially since I quite like the NetBSD console experience.
Especially when I get to install it on my desktops.
I may have to send an email to my local library though. They
recently switched to a Wi-Fi portal that may require Javascript.
Yuck.

I also noticed that I DMed more over this weekend than I had at
any point before this. I also sent more emails. Part of it was that
I wanted to switch to something more email-heavy anyways, but toot
is a very good tool. It definitely feels like a UNIX way to use
the fediverse. I even wrote a shell loop to favorite a bunch of
posts I wanted to favorite.
I'm also learning ex better. I found out that you can get one time
numbers by ending the address request with 'nu' rather than 'n' in
some ed versions. I think I may like ex more than ed, honestly.
Its differences aren't too great, and it has more versatility.
