Livingroom
The livingroom is small but cozy. Its furniture is just a sofa, coffee table, overstuffed chair, and a floor lamp, but it's perfect for a relaxed evening at home and reading a good book. A brightly colored throw rug in the center of the room completes the picture. It looks like the kitchen lies to the south, the bedroom door to the east, and the front door to the north.
An apparition of a man strides into the livingroom right through the east wall. You shout and wave at it but it continues on across the room and walks through the west wall. It did not seem to be aware of you or anything in the room.
Don't worry about that guy. He's just a bit of crosstalk. I'll tweak the settings and it won't happen again.
You can hear a faint clucking sound coming from the bedroom to the east.
On the coffee table is a pamphlet.

Bedroom
A charming little room with a comfy looking bed, nightstand, and closet. You doubt that you'll be spending much time in here with all you have to do. A door to the west leads to the living room, the bathroom is off to the east, and it looks like the door to the south probably leads to the closet.
Szzaapp! Startled, you look around quickly. Let's see now... ah yes, the sound seemed like it came from the vicinity of the bed. You eye the ornate box lying on the center of the bed. It looks like it was meant to be found so it's probably safe to touch, but why is it here and what does it do? Humm...
The clucking sound is louder in here. It seems to becoming from the bathroom to the east.
On the comfy looking bed is an ornate box.
>get box
Taken.
>open box
You open the ornate box, revealing a red herring.
>get herring
Taken.

Bathroom
A tiny, boring bathroom. Even so, it has a tub, toilet, and sink, none of which are of any importance. A doorway to the west leads to the bedroom.
You can see a live leghorn chicken here.
>get chicken
Taken.

Kitchen
This tiny kitchen is small but still serviceable for one person to prepare meals in. It has the standard set of appliances and a counter that is large enough to use for both food preparation and to hold a place setting for one person. A small cupboard has been mounted on the wall above the counter. There is a sturdy looking backdoor in the south wall, and and a steel door in the east wall.
You can see a stove, a kitchen sink, and a refrigerator here.
>look in refrigerator
You can't see inside, since the refrigerator is closed.
You hear a yipping howl and a frantic squawking from the south. The squawking ends suddenly. It sounded like a chicken was murdered!
>open it
You open the refrigerator, revealing two red herrings.
>get all
red herring: Taken.

(first opening the backdoor)
I can see at least one dead chicken in your assignment area Newbie. You'd better make sure your chickens have access to feed and water. And you really should recycle the dead birds.
Backyard
The backyard has a sparse lawn with a board fence to the west and the south. To the east, a rickety gate in a chickenwire fence leads into a chicken yard. The backdoor of the house is to the north.
You can see a dead arucana chicken here.
>e
(first opening the rickety gate)
The gate has a spring that closes it behind you to keep the chickens confined.
Chicken Yard
This good sized patch of bare dirt has been pecked clean of every trace of green, and you can be sure that every worm has been scratched up and eaten. A feeding trough and a watering trough are attached to the wall of the shed. A sagging fence of rusty chicken wire surrounds it on all sides, but there is a rickety gate on the west side that leads to the backyard. And, there is a chicken coop to the east, and a door into a storage shed to the south.
>drop chicken
Dropped.

(first opening the the storage shed door.)
Storage Shed
This ramshackle shed was made with ill-fitting wooden planks of varying lengths. Light seeps in through dozens of cracks. There is a door in the north wall that leads outside. A shelf is on the north wall to the right of the door.
You can see a large ceramic crock, a storage bin, a chickenfeed sack, a water jug, and two small rolls of chickenwire here.
>get all

Transceiver Room
The Transceiver Room is surprisingly large for such a small house. There are lots of shelves. A door in the west wall leads to the kitchen.
On the shelves are a basket and a Zapper.
You can also see the Tesla Set (on which are a Trade Goods Listing and an Operating Instructions Booklet) and the Transceiver Cage here.
You push the buttons by name or number to operate the Tesla Set. For example,"push arucana", "push 1", etc.
The Buy buttons allow you to purchase items from the Acme Supply Company. When you push one of these buttons, the Acme Supply Company will deduct the current cost of the item from your Tesla Reserve bank account and send you the item. (For example: The "push leghorn" command will buy a leghorn chicken.)
The Sell button allows you to send items you have placed in the Transceiver Cage to the Acme Supply Company. (For example: you could use the "put eggs in cage" command, followed by the "push sell" command to sell all the eggs in your inventory.)
The Recycle button allows you to send items you have placed in the Transceiver Cage to Universal Materials LLC. (For example: you could use the "put all jugs in cage" command, followed by the "push 8" command to sell all the jugs in your inventory.)
Both Acme and Universal will credit your account with the sell price based on the current Trade Goods Exchange listing.
NOTE: Instead of pushing a Buy button, you can use the "buy" command as in: buy arucana, buy buckeye, buy leghorn, buy water, buy chickenfeed, or buy chickenwire. Buying anything else will either not be understood or bring an error message.
>buy arucana
The Terminal emits a loud zap and the Transceiver Cage lights up with a momentary corona discharge. A live arucana chicken appears in the Cage along with a message on a neatly folded piece of paper.
You grab the message and read it:
