DEVOTIONALIA is not meant to be won or lost,
but is ideally played MORE THAN ONCE. There
are favorable and unfavorable results in each
path, but these do not necessarily lead to a
     better or worse ending.

Consult the in-game GUIDANCE page for
information about hyperlink formatting and for
     further hints.

This walkthrough is not spoiler-free, but focuses
on only the most major changes; other changes
and flavor elements will appear depending on the
player's choices, but minor changes are not
  noted in this walkthrough.

  I. Introduction
  __________________________________________________

The player can choose the order in which to read
about the temple's background -- its RELIC, its
ACOLYTES, or its SHORELINE. Or, if they so desire,
they can choose to read only one of the three
before progressing with the narrative. Reading all
three is recommended, but not required.

The introduction provides detail about the PRIEST
and their world. There is an element of choice,
but no ending-altering choices are made here.

  I. Creating a Votive Object
  __________________________________________________

The ideal votive is ANDROGYNOUS, PAINTED, and
  made of WOOD.

A rejected votive will be MASCULINE, FEMININE,
  and/or made of BONE.

Any other votive is considered acceptable.

  II. Making a Sacrifice
  __________________________________________________

  Sacrificing YOURSELF necessitates LEECHES.

Sacrificing a SNAKE will end rather gruesomely
  for the PRIEST.

When sacrificing a MEAL, you can choose to cook
with a creature's TENTACLE, BONES, or ORGAN MEAT
The remaining choices in the route are simply
  for... "flavor."

Choosing either TENTACLES or ORGAN MEAT creates
the ideal meal sacrifice, but choosing BONES,
while not ideal, is more acceptable than sculpting
with bone, and will produce an acceptable
  sacrifice.

  III. Composing a Prayer
  __________________________________________________

A disrespectful prayer addresses the being as
SILENT GOD or NEGLECTFUL SNAKE, and/or REQUESTS
  THEIR SKIN.

Prayers which demonstrate understanding of the
presence will choose an appropriate ADDRESS
(anything but the above) and request that they
WISH WELL THE DEPARTED or LEAD THE ABANDONED
TO THESE SAFE SHORES. These are neutral prayers.

The prayer which conveys deepest LOVE is one which
addresses the being as ANJUR-BAS and asks whether
or not they will RETURN ONE DAY.

ALL OTHER OPTIONS vary in flavor, but do not
affect the prayer's reception. Prayers neither
loving nor disrespectful will lead to a different
  conclusion.

  V. Conclusion
  __________________________________________________

IDEAL VOTIVES, MEALS, and LOVING PRAYERS lead the
priest to wonder whether it is cruel to view the
  being as a god.

BAD VOTIVES and PRAYERS lead the priest to wonder
whether any of their efforts matter and reflect
  upon the utility of cult.

ALL OTHER RESULTS (LEECHES, NEUTRAL PRAYERS, GOOD
VOTIVES) lead the priest to contemplate the future
of the temple and its acolytes.

  ____________________ NOTE: _______________________

There is no limit to the number of offerings you
  may create.

The greatest effect the offerings can have is on
the PRIEST and how they PERCEIVE the ending — not
on the presence, or the events of the ending.

It is left to the priest to interpret whether
something is RETREATING, LINGERING, or SHIFTING
  in the sea above.

  Regardless, something is there.
