If you wish to play R (Pron: Arrr...) using the supplied
AdvPC / AdvPDA game engine (interpreter) then do as follows:
- If playing on Windows Mobile devices install .net2 for PDA
then run AdvPDA on the PDA.
- If playing on Windows Desktop / laptop PCs, install .net2
(you will more than likely have it already) then run ADVPC. Do
not run AdvPDA from a PC or you will get an error because the
executable AdvPDA is compiled for a PDA CPU and not a PC CPU!
Once running AdvPDA or AdvPC depending what device you are
running on, press "Open other" and point it to the file R.dat
in the R_Game_Data_File folder.
If you do not wish to use the AdvPDA / ADVPC interpreter then
the game file (R.dat) should run under most other freeware
Scott Adams interpreters such as "ASFDDOS" / ScottFree for
LINUX / MAC etc.
