The European Championships are on and I have been watching a ton of soccer
(football) in the past week or so. Some of my highlights thus far...
1. Poor Christian Eriksen going into Cardiac Arrest on the field: This was
such a terrible thing to see, and clearly traumatic for all the players and
coaches, especially the Danes. The guy was dead on the field - it was a truly
awful scene and not one you ever expect to encounter when the ball is kicked
at the opening whistle. Everyone is just glad he is OK and recovering in
hospital, because that was scary stuff.
2. Patrick Schick wondergoal against Scotland: Patty Schick took this one so
well - an instant classic Euros goal from 50 yards out! I'm afraid you'll have
to get on YouTube for this one, but it's worth it.
3. Benjamin Pavard getting knocked out cold by Gosens: This was not such a
good look for UEFA - Pavard was seeing stars after a knee to the button by
Gosens sent Pavard to the turf, unconscious.
4. Wales lightning in a bottle, again?: The Welsh, who (coaches and players)
all seem to have nice biceps (must be the rugby), beat the Turks 2-0 and are
having themselves a nice tourney thus far after drawing their first match.
