ArTeX version 1.00b

ArTeX is a Perl script which simplifies the exchange of LaTeX documents
between collaborating authors or between author and publisher.

ArTeX analyzes a LaTeX 2e document to determine whether it loads any
non-standard files. If non-standard files are identified, ArTeX creates
filecontents or filecontents* environments for them and adds these
environments to the input document. The new document can be processed
successfully on any system with a standard installation of LaTeX 2e.

ArTeX has been tested in the following environments:

   (1) Irix 5.2, Perl 4.036 and 5.000
   (2) MS-DOS 6.2, Perl 4.036 (bigperl), emTeX

The ArTeX distribution contains the following files:

   README.artex   -  this file
   artex          -  Perl script
   artexman.html  -  HTML version of manual
   artexman.tex   -  LaTeX 2e version of manual
