Description: Versatile, high-performance HTTP server with SSL support
The most popular server in the world, Apache features a modular
design and supports dynamic selection of extension modules at runtime.
Some of its strong points are its range of possible customization,
dynamic adjustment of the number of server processes, and a whole
range of available modules including many authentication mechanisms,
server-parsed HTML, server-side includes, access control, CERN httpd
metafiles emulation, proxy caching, etc.  Apache also supports multiple
virtual homing.
.
This release of the Apache server can replace any Apache server already
installed with any standard module and guesses which modules should
be loaded by looking at the site configuration files.  Any site-specific
modules that were previously linked into Apache can then be dynamically
loaded at startup.
.
This version includes SSL support for secure transactions.

Description: a block-sorting file compressor
bzip uses the Burrows-Wheeler-Fenwick block-sorting text compression
algorithm, which achieves usually much better results than the LZ77/LZ78
based compressors. Of course it is much slower than gzip and needs a lot
of memory for compressing and decompressing.
The algorithm uses arithmetic coding, so there might be problems with a
patent in the USA.

Description: Donate unused CPU cycles - client for SolNet DES Challenge
Donate your extra CPU cycles to a worthy cause!
.
RSA Data Security Inc. (holders of the patents on RC5 encryption - the
most common public-key encryption algorithm around, and the leading
cryptographic software company) is sponsoring a series of contests
to "crack" messages encrypted with the RC5 and DES algorithms via
brute force methods.  The objective of this contest is to demonstrate
that weak encryption is susceptible to brute-force attacks, either
via large numbers of computers working together on the internet, or
via specialized hardware.
.
This is important because various governments around the world
(particularily the U.S. government) have laws restricting the length
of encryption keys used in communication.  In the U.S., these
laws penalize U.S. companies (especially RSA) and threaten the
privacy of individual citizens.
.
The SolNET DES Challenge "coordinated effort" is the only DES
challenge entry being hosted outside North America.  Since the
clients are also written outside North America, thay are not
subject to US cryptography laws, and can be used by anybody in
the world!  Of course, it can also be used inside North America.

 o POP3 support.
o Mailbox threading (both strict and non-strict).
o Default keybindings are much like ELM.
o Keybindings are configurable; Mush and PINE-like ones are provided as

o Messages may be (indefinitely) postponed.
 o Colour support.
o Highly configurable through easy but powerful rc file.

It is VERY IMPORTANT that you read the documentation (installed
in /usr/doc/pgp) before attempting to use PGP.  If you do not
do so you will probably lose any security you might gain from
PGP, and not even realise that you have lost it.
.
This version of PGP is the `International' version from Stale
Schumacher.  It is somewhat faster, and has more useful features.
However, it does not have a licence for its use of the RSA
cryptosystem, on which some nasty people claim a patent.
