Hi,
Here is the minimal patches to compile Alex. It actually compiled flawlessy
(what else would one expect ??) except when dealing with the FILE structure
internals because of the recent changes to stdio in the standard linux C
library. You need libc version 4.5.8 and above to use this patch (It is
probably just as trivial for libraries prior to this).

What is Alex ?? Well briefly it lets you access the world FTP directories
on a NFS mounted partition (typically /alex). So you could say for example
% cp /alex/fi/funet/nic/README ~/
to copy the toplevel README from nic.funet.fi.
I have only done limited testing. Please send bug reports to me.
