I have just uploaded to CPAN a new release of the IO distribution.
The main fix in this distribution is that it does not require perl5.003_02
or later. It will now compile with any version of perl since perl5.002
Here are the changes from the ChangeLog file
o Modified IO.xs so that it will compile with pre perlio versio
of perl (ie pre perl5.003_02)
o Modified IO::Socket::send so not to pass 4 arguments to send
if the socket is connected
It should be avaliable on mirror sites soon.
