I've often wished I had a hypertext version of the perl manual on my
desktop. The HTML sites with the perl manual are hard to search,
slow not that indexed. The Norton Guides version of the manual is
OK, but I haven't found a Windows NG viewer that's decent. Besides,
that old .HLP format feels comfortable.
I've made the PERL 4 manual into a Hypertext Windows Help file. For
people running Windows, this is a standard .HLP file they can launch
from their desktop and view using WINHELP.
I've also made Macintosh and Solaris 2.4 versions of the Help file,
using Starview's help compiler for those platforms. The Mac and
Solaris versions are identical to the Windows version, and provide
the same functionality as a Windows help file.
