GNOME uses a new and powerful mechanism to store data about how to
run the applications on your machine called desktop entries. To convert
the wmconfig entries used by the standard RH 5.2 desktop environment,
use the wmconfig2desktop.pl Perl script in this directory.
You must run the script as root. Its usage is very simple:
cd /mnt/cdrom/gnome <or wherever your CDROM is mounted>
./wmconfig2desktop.pl
The script will convert the wmconfig entries on your system to the
appropriate desktop entries. The new entries should immediately be
available via the GNOME panel by pressing the 'foot' menu button.
