Minutes of the Internet Anonymous FTP Archives (IAFA)


  o IAFA meeting Agenda approved
  o Charter was discussed and a sentence of the following type was
    suggested and approved for addition to the charter:
    ``This Working Group will also look into the FTP Protocol
    functionality (though not the protocol itself) as it concerns
    anonymous FTP to see if changes can be recommended and forwarded to
    the appropriate Working Group or Area Director''
  o The ``User's Guide To Anonymous FTP'' document was discussed.  It
    was decided that many such documents already exist and that writing
    a new one from scratch would be redundant.  John Curran
    ([email protected]), Ellen Hoffman ([email protected]) and April
    Marine ([email protected]) volunteered to draw together the
    current documents and provide a draft User's guide to be
    distributed on the IAFA mailing list before the next IETF meeting.

  o The ``Anonymous FTP Site Administrators Guide'' was discussed as a
    useful document for the recommended operating procedures for an
    anonymous ftp site.  Alan Emtage volunteered to write a draft to be
    distributed on the IAFA mailing list before the next IETF meeting.
