iCEView v0.66 Wide Beta (c) 1994, 1995 Insane Creator's Enterprise (tm)

What you are now viewing is the documentation for iCE's new
viewer, named iCEView. This program is a "one-stop" program to
view most any artwork you might come across in your art scene
   experience.

iCEView is the first viewer to include TRUE Smooth Scrolling
in its ANSI display modes. TRiBEView once claimed smooth scrolling,
but believe me, THIS is the real thing. Once you view an ANSI in
25-line mode, you might never go back! :)

iCEView, using proper memory techniques, will use up to 8
megabytes of EMS memory. Using this memory, it will display ANSIs
up to 51,200 lines long. BIN viewing is equally flexible, allowing
a user to display pics at 163840x25, 2023x2023, 51200x80 or anywhere
   in between! ;)

(now THAT figure is theoretical - no one's drawn me a pic to test
that with yet. Any takers? ;) )

In addition, it sports an interface that was drawn in ANSI using
iCE's new iCEDraw. This program is not for public consumption.. yet.
v2.00 will be out around August, possibly.

iCEView Features

ANSI/BIN Viewing in ALL supported video modes.
GIF viewing in VGA or Super VGA modes, with the proper resolution
     auto-detected.
The debut of the new iCEDraw format, which utilizes custom font
     and palette remapping.
File manipulation functions - Copy, Move, Delete and Mkdir.
VGA ANSI Display. This is far faster than any other viewer out there.
A little slower to draw, perhaps, but far faster to scroll. Gotta love
     those demo tricks.
BIN Display. Handles unlimited width and unlimited length, up to the
     size of available memory.
Smooth scrolling in all 4 directions. TOP THIS ONE! =)
    SAUCE Detection and inclusion.
EMS memory usage. Using 8 M of EMS allows 51000+ lines of ANSI.
If no EMS is found, it will use 128k of RAM (allowing 800 lines)
    VGA Screen saver.
CRC self-checking to resist virus infection. If you have an
infected copy of iCEView, contact Friar on IRC, or the iCE WWW
     page.
External file association. By editing the .CNF file, you can run
DMP for your .S3M and .MOD files, and whatever.
Side-by-side ANSI viewing. This can view up to 50 ANSIs in text
mode, or 3 ANSIs in VGA mode.

SETTING UP iCEVIEW

iCEView is really simple to set up. Just unzip it into any
directory. Keep the .CNF file and the .EXE together - it'll still run
without it, it'll just be much nicer with your settings.

If you use Desqview(tm), iCEView comes with a PIF to use it under
   Desqview(tm). To load this pif:

     1. Run Desqview(tm).
     2. Choose 'Open Window'.
     3. Choose 'Add a Program'.
     4. Choose 'Other'.
     5. Type in the path information to IV-PIF.DVP. (It should have been
in the package you got iCEView from.)
     6. iCEView will work with Desqview(tm) now!

Planned improvements:
    JPEG implementation.

Known Bugs:
The Tseng ET4000 does not support standard VGA mem wraparound.
What a pissoff. I'll have to code around this one.
