A lot of time ago, in the darkness of the scene,
While walking around a forgotten party, I found
this hungry guy, begging for food, almost dead.
He had spent a day trying to use a sleeping bag
in a humid corridor.We were more than 4000 souls
Struggling to survive in a polluted environment
of chaos, deadlines and absence of god.
Yes, it was the Euskal party in Bilbao, and the
year was 2011. His nickname was Navis. He chose
that one because he likes boats, as he told me.
I offered some Jam to this guy and took him to a
little sightseeing and he was grateful. Someday,
he told me, we will do something together. I was
afraid because my dirty mind translated that to
the wrong context so I kept my eyes open.
It turned that this guy was a famous demoscener
and unlike me, he was having some success with
his prods. I stopped making demos that year and
he was sad because of that, but it was too hard
for me to keep the Apple's new features release
pace, that rendered my old demoengine useless in
less than a year.
After nine years or my last demoscene music prod
Navis asked me to write a song for a demo called
dark demon and that's all I knew about it at the
time. So I gave him the chance to fulfill an old
promise. "You will reach the stars because I am
very famous". So I was watching his demos and I
was happy because they were good. And I accepted
this assignment with no doubt.
I hope that you enjoy this track, mainly written
before and after christmas, in countless nights,
after-hours... so I hope to be famous after the
release, and I promise I won't misuse that glory
in useless prods like other scenes do.
I asked shotgan, an old friend of mine (well, he
is actually old) to do the mix.It was his dream.
Mixing a song and become a real musician before
the death was so important to him...
...he can now rest in peace. Of course, if you
don't like the track, it's shotgan's fault.
