. this is muoto, a traction and brainstorm demonstration
for evoke 2013 in cologne, germany.

. muoto is finnish and means a shape or a form

. code and visuals   - preacher
   music              - scott
   audio              - fmod
   images             - openil
additional design  - scott, kianga, rale, napsa and
a huge bunch of other folk

. this one was a long time in the making, at least for
me. i started it working on this right after revision
2012 that i unfortunately missed and it was supposed
to be released at evoke 2012 already, but there were
problems in procuring suitable music and as i realized
that there would be no way to make it in time, i made
vre, which just goes to show that sometimes it's best
to ignore whatever plans you have.

. some of the ideas in this one are very, very old. i've
wanted to do the pentagram zoomer for at least a decade,
for example, and the part with the rings comes from the
ovolo logo. there's also a huge bunch of leftover parts
that almost could make up a demo of their own, so maybe
there'll be a sequel. some of them were pretty nice too,
just didn't fit this one. the middle part of vre with
the glowing ribbons was originally for this demo.

. for the people who will eventually come to me at a party
or e-mail me or post on pouet to tell me that they would
like more lines and glow instead of this angular abstract
shit with a white background, or who already have done
that sort of thing, there is a checkbox for you on the
startup dialog. it took me all of five minutes to make
(okay, so maybe more like ten), so no need to thank me.
i hope you like it. it's for you.

. i have been a proponent of open source in demos and have
released the source to all of my recent work. this one
will be a bit different because in the bowels of the
codebase there is an another production that will be
unlike anything the scene has ever seen as far as i know,
and i don't want to go through the refactor hell to take
it out. once that one is released, this one will be
opened as well. not that there's anything special in it,
it's just a bunch of simple scenes.

. come visit us at http://brainstorm.untergrund.net, you
know you want to. until the next time (which might be
       sooner than you think)...
