Entries, presented on any party or available freely
to public, will not be allowed.
All Compo entries must be created _specifically_ for

1) No drugs on the demoparty.
2) All manipulations with hardware of organizer's or contestant's
without coordinator's permission are strictly prohibited.
3) Smoke only in designated areas.
4) No coarse language.
5) No littering.
6) Alcohol on the party coordinated by organizers/security.
! Violatators of the rules 1 and 2 will be kicked out of the party straight
away, violation of rules 3 to 6 will be controlled by the system of two
warnings.
! System of two warnings:
1. After the first warning, received from security, visitor must either
leave till the end of the current day of the party or find himself a
guarantee - person, who will be responsible for the visitor during the
entire party.
2. If visitor gets the second (and final) warning, him and his guarantee
will be removed from the party.
3. Entries of the people, removed from the party WILL NOT be disqualified,
unless some problems/questions will be arised, which will not be possible
to solve without the author.
! Attention, every visitor of the party (whether contestant or just bystander
will have to produce some kind of identification and sign the following
disclaimer:
"I, as visitor of the Chaos Constructions 999, declare that I have read the
current rules and agree to obey them. I understand that in case of my
violation of these rules I might be exiled from the party and the money,
spent on my ticket WILL NOT be refunded. I agree to compensate all damages
caused by me intentionally or not"
- Approximate Timetable of the event:
Day 1.
Spectrum: Music, GFX, Intros, Demos
anim compo, ascii\ansi compo, wild demo.
Day 2.
Amiga/PC: Music, Hand-Drawn and RayTraced GFX, Intros, Demos
Count the votes, prizes for the winners.
! Correct timetable will be given to everybody at the beginning of the first
day of the party.
- Cost of the tickets and prizes.
! Ticket for 2 days of the party will cost up to $5.
! Ticket for the one day will cost up to $3.
! Free entry for girls!
! Prizes - depends on the resources. certificates\symbolics and so on...
! You must reserve your tickets before 21st of June.
We cannot guarantee the price of the ticket will be the same during the
actual party. Reservation should be done via electronic mail.
Everybody should fill the corresponding forms and send them off via
internet or fidonet onto one of the contact addresses.

Demo(intro) must work correctly on the standard Pentagon
128 without any extenders, on which the demo(intro) will
be presented to the viewers during a compo. Demo CAN use
GS (general sound), SD (sound drive), GMX, Turbo mode,
Extended memory (of up to 512kb) (pentagon standard) BUT!
! ATTENTION! During the compo, all entries will be shown on
the standard Pentagon 128. After the end of voting,
entries can be shown using all features and extenders.
! If author wants, entry can be presented on the Wild Compo
(preselection rules apply).
! Demo(Intro) _must_ work on the standard Scorpion
(without crashes).

just about anything else, created specially for Chaos Constructions
(demoparty) and Concern Chaos (main organizer).
No limits. Winners will be announced on the party, who will be chosen by
organizers.
! Not really "correct" compo - entries will be chosen BEFORE the party and
will be used for the decoration of the party.
No limit on the number of entries. Feel free to contribute.
! Attention:
while designing symbolics for CC999 keep in mind that the winners will be
printed on the special T-shirts.

+ Only new games (not released before the party) will be allowed. All entries
must be original (quality conversions of old spectrum games for General
Sound fall under this category).

! Game should have demo mode, which demonstrates all it's features, which
should start automatically without the user's intervention.
! Game should work on the standard Pentagon 128, but CAN use General Sound,
Sound Drive, up to 512kb of RAM.

+ Only 4-5 contestants will be allowed to these compos.
! Everybody will have similar development tools to do the task, set by
the party organizers.
! The task will have a timelimit (1-2 hours).
These compos will be conducted during music and graphic compos.
! Personal templates\disks\configs\compilers are not allowed.
! Maximum 1 representative from the group.
! Preselection will be based upon the portfolio of the contestant.
! Software, installed on the development machines, will be announced later.
! All suggestions will be taken into consideration.
! In Spectrum compo, machines will be preloaded with an emulator with the
disk, which will contain various software (TASM, XAS, STS, PT3, Art
Studio, HRUM, HRUST, ZX Word, Perfect Commander)

Possibly, entries will be shown in dos-box of Windows'95.
On the request of the author the following drivers can be loaded:
1. emm386.exe in config.sys
2. SDD version 6.0
3. UltraMid with set of patches.. (direct access of the directory
%ULTRADIR% is prohibited - only driver calls)
4. DPMI: latest cwsdpmi or dos-session of windows'95.
Use of other drivers or other versions, different from the
specified in rules, must be negotiated before the party with
organisers. Best of all - expect that you will not succeed :)
5. DirectX.
If using sound it is recommended to work with GUS Classic 1Mb
(strongly recommended), SB16 (AWE32) or General Midi; it should be
possible to use various settings of ports/IRQ/DMA: either the setup
program or reading of the emvoronment variables (variables BLASTER and
ULTRASND will be set) or autodetect (attention! you'd better off having
an option to turn it off and have a manual setup), or (for compos of up
to 4k (inclusive)) - few versions of the program for the different addresses
of the sound card.

- Because of preselection, all (!!!) entries should be registered
_before_ the party!
! music and graphics for ZX-Spectrum after 2nd of July 1999 most likely
WON'T be accepted.
! music and graphics for Amiga/PC after 3nd of July 1999 most likely

! DeadLine - 30 minutes before the compo if there's sufficient space in the
timetable for the compo.
! Registration of the demo or compo might (!!!) happen during the day of
compo but this isn't guaranteed, since it might cause a delay.
! All entries should be sent before the party for the internal testing on
the compo-machines, thus making YOUR life easier during the party.

! Attention, your graphics and music can be presented by an authorised

! Entry (demo/intro) can be presented by an authorised person, but the
following rules will apply:
1. One person may NOT present more than 1 group/individual.
2. All responsibility for the correct execution of the entry on the
compo-machine will be put on this authorised person.
3. If some kind of problem occurs that can not be solved by the
authorised person, the entry might be disqualified from the compo.
! Every group (or individual - group made of the single person) must fill in

- The task of preselection committee is selection of the best entries
for the compos based on the next qualities:
+ Graphics:
Scanned and\or stolen from other platforms graphics is not allowed.
+ Music:
Stolen music is not allowed.
+ Demo\Intro:
Pure animation is not allowed (except in Wild Demo and Animation Compo
where it can be used).
! Attention:
Because of the strict limits on the number of the entries in every
category, only the best entries (in eyes of the preselection committee)
will be allowed to the actual compo, the rest of entries will be presented
(if there will be time) OUTSIDE of the actual compos (or not presented at
all (up to the author)).
! Members of the preselection committee have the right to participate in
the compos. Their entries will also have to go through preselection (in
voting for their own entries authors will not take any part).
