       * drivers/dectalk/dectalksynthesisdriver.c: surround uses of
       d->index_queue with a mutex so as to avoid a crash/hang in the
       dectalk-synthesis-driver.  This would occur intermittently after
       minutes of repeated calls to say and stop.
