We are still on holiday, but we changed our camp site. We are now staying in
the beautiful province of Drente. Total change of scenery... and that with only
a distance between here and the former camp site of about a 100 kms. It is
strange to see such a change happen over such a short distance.
Went shopping in the local second hand store and bought some goodies. Some old
70's board games, a music CD (Tanita Tikaram, Ancient Heart, 1988) and some PC
games for the kids. One of the PC game DVDs turned out to be a Steam game and
therefore was already activated, and couldn't be reactivated. Luckily we only
paid 2 Euros for the game, but it is never nice to have bought something that
actually does not work at all.
Overall we've had very good luck in going to second hand stores over the years.
We scored many good finds for, generally, small money. We even stumbled across
two Dutch Design chairs (Friso Klamer, Ahrend) once for 15 euros each. Those
were a real steal.
We are still enjoying the holidays, and the camp site we are on now is one of
the nature campsites that exist throughout the Netherlands, and therefore every-
thing is green and "planet-proof" here.
Also the people who go to campsites like this are a little different from other,
more "normal" campsites. I kind of like these people here a bit better. They are
less busy with looking good, and more busy with enjoying themselves.
