Phew, what a week! I was so busy at work and in church this week.. Made very
long hours. I am very happy that my weekend has just begun. This week we fin-
ished building our new AV setup in church that is now capable of streaming
our services on the internet. Until now we were using a cobbled-together setup
that we haphazardly threw together when the Covid-19 crisis hit. Now we have
an integrated solution. Very nicely integrated with our sound system as well.
We are using the excellent OBS-Studio package to stream. Currently at version
26.0. To me this is like the perfect streaming studio program. We even do the
video mixing in it, and we chose to not use a video mixer (which is more or
less the standard) but instead do it all in OBS. Streaming platform that we
chose to use is Twitch, because it is so easy to use (better than YouTube) and
it is easy to embed in your own webpages. Finally I would like to mention the
sound mixer we chose. We use a Yamaha MG16XU 16-channel mixer with direct USB
connection. Works a treat with OBS and works out-of-the-box on Debian Linux.
It's nice to have proper gear. Makes working with it a lot more comfortable.
