I was going to echo this.. But add that virtualization has come a long way as
well.

That being said, being here in CA, we're being raped by PG&E who, since
deregulation of the 80's has been focusing solely on the shareholders and not
the infrastructure that caused many of the fires here over the past 8 years.
So.. my wife and I ase now averaging over $350/month in electricity bills
alone.
All elecrtic home, no gas, so water heater, drier and stove are the big
hitters. I haven't placed the Kill-a-watt on the server in a while, but I can't
see that using up too much in KWH.
