I used to work for a nursing agency that was a "non-profit, United Way"
company as a visiting psychiatric nurse. It's a stunning agency which really
took care of their clients. My pay was deposited in my personal checking
account like most businesses do now but, the company which was outsourced to
do this found that someone, within the nursing agency accounting office,  tried
to create a fake account at a bank at Walmart and transfer my check  there.
They did the right thing and alerted both me and my employer. The  issue was
identified and properly dealt with. I was quite angry and going to  investigate
the issue but was encouraged to "let my employer deal with it  locally".  I
suspect they didn't want the publicity.
