The Russellville, Arkansas Hamfest, scheduled for March 5th, 2022, has been
CANCELED.

Just a few minutes ago, I posted the official statement on Facebook.

With the uncertainty of COVID-19, there were not any other alternatives.

I am very sorry and disappointed for myself and many other fellow Amateur
Radio Operators in the area. Many other Conventions and Events are also
rethinking their 2022 schedules. The International DX Convention that's in
California, just canceled. I suspect that there will be more.

The club is going to try and have an outdoor or open air event in the fall,
if at all possible. Possibly a Tailgate or Swap Meet of some sort.

As a side note, the current number of Covid-19 cases in Arkansas (most
are with the Omicron variant...with some of the Delta variant, and some
with both) are increasing on an average of 10,000 per day. Back on the
12th of January, there were over 11,000 new cases.

As of now, the Lawrence County Winterfest at Hoxie is still set for
Saturday, February 12...the same weekend as Orlando Hamcation. However,
with the rise of Covid-19 cases, it wouldn't surprise me if many of
these events are also canceled. Please call before you travel, to be
sure you aren't going to waste a trip.
