I honestly did not know that. I haven't bought any Amiga gear in a long time, but even back 20 years ago the accelerator boards were absolutely out of site expensive. I had one at one point, but I sold it long ago (unfortunately it seems) for more than I bought my first car for :)
The A1200 was more modest, I really wanted one with a mini-tower case and I bought it from someone in Germany off e-bay and had it shipped to Texas. Somehow between my very novice German and Babblefish I managed to get it here ended up with what I thought was good deal on it. At the time you could still buy brand new "old stock" Amiga 1200s from someone in Europe that had bought the entire inventory of them after Commodore went bankrupt, which pretty much put a ceiling on the price of used ones.
My kid is going to College in a couple of years, I'm going to have to check out the market now :)
