Hi Ben,
BC> Title: Chocolate Cake With Strawberry Jam Frosting
BC> Categories: Cakes
BC> Yield: 1 Cake
Usually I pass over group messages like this but the title caught my
eye. I like both chocolate and strawberries.
BC> 3 1/2 c Self rising flour; sifted
BC> 1/4 c Cocoa powder
BC> 1 ts Baking powder
BC> 3/4 ts Baking soda
Reading the ingredients listing, this made me curious. Why does it call
for self rising flour (which has baking powder in it, as well as salt),
baking powder and baking soda? It sounds like too much leavening. I know
you just posted this as is from a cook book, but are other recipies,
especially those from baked goods in this cook book heavy on the
leavening? Just curious,
---
Catch you later,
Ruth
