RH> That's why I don't like peanut butter to this day.

My mom tells me her mother would top everything she could with Velveeta.  To
this day, my mother cannot stand any cheese at all except string cheese.  I
can't blame her.

When I was in school, I usually qualified for the free lunch school program.
For a while there, I also was getting to school early enough to get free
breakfast also.  The food wasn't always the greatest but I was happy to have
food to eat period.

I never had horrible food.  It was mostly just bland.

Even now, as a single divorcee, I am thankful my mom taught me how to cook.
Some men I know, who are my age, can barely manage using a microwave.

and continue cooking for 30 minutes.  In a separate frypan cook the
bacon until transparent.  Add the onions; cook until golden.  Set
aside. Mash soup through a sieve or food mill.  Return to pan and add
the bacon onion mixture, salt and pepper.  Add frankfurters; reheat
about 5 minutes. Sprinkle soup with chopped parsley and serve.
