That's because of the prohibition on poly-ticks and religious debate.
An d this is now I still remember back ion the early day. The Home_
Cooking echo got started because of an A.R. moderator with a bee in her
bonnet towards (I forget what the subject was) but Sharon Stevens began
Home_Cooking as a "friendlier, more welcoming" echo. Other than the bulk
recipe I post there and in "Recipes" almost all of the traffic is in
this echo. I think I had two posts in Home_Cooking this year in response
to one of my recipes. Longer ago than that in Recipes

In the UK it's 9-9-9 which actually makes more sense as it's easier to
dial without looking in a tense situaion.  Bv)=

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Casey Jones One Dish Supper
Categories: Beef, Bread, Mushrooms
     Yield: 8 Servings

   1/2 lb Frozen white bread dough;
          - thawed
 1 1/2 lb Lean ground beef
   1/4 c  Chopped onions
     4 oz Can sliced mushrooms;
          - drained
     8 oz Can tomato sauce
     2 tb Catsup
     1 ts Beef soup mix or beef
          - boullion granules
   1/4 ts Oregano
   1/4 ts Thyme
   1/4 ts Basil
   1/4 ts Parsley
   1/8 ts Black pepper
     1 lg Egg beaten
          Bacon flavored bits

 Brown beef and onions in Dutch oven. Drain if necessary.
 Add next 9 ingredients. Cover, simmer 15 minutes. Remove
 from stovetop and cool to warm.

 Divide dough into 20 pieces and place on top of warm beef
 mixture. Cover with clean towel and let rise 30 minutes
 or until pieces of bread dough have doubled in size.
 Lightly brush dough with beaten egg. Sprinkle with bacon
 flavored bits. Bake uncovered at 375oF for 25-30 minutes.

 Makes 8 servings.

 (Remaining bread dough can be made into rolls.)
