     Title: Simmered Pumpkin With Ground Beef

     Yield: 1 Batch


     1/4 lg Pumpkin (300 g)
     100 g  Lean ground beef
     1/2 ts Ginger; finely minced
       1 tb Vegetable oil
       2 c  Water (400 ml)
   1 1/2 tb Sake
   1 1/2 tb Soy sauce
       2 tb Sugar
       1 ts Corn starch; in:
       1 tb Water (optional)

 Remove pumpkin seeds, peel the skin at random and cut into 1-1/2"
 chunks. Slightly cut off the corners of the pumpkin pieces.

 Heat oil in a skillet and stir-fry ginger and ground beef. When the
 meat turns brown, stir in pumpkin and braise. When the pumpkin is
 fully coated with oil, add seasonings and simmer for a while over
 medium heat.

 When the pumpkin is tender, stir in cornstarch and water to add
 thickness.
