Hi Dave,

DD> I have trouble using up a single heart before it gets so limber it's
DD> only goot for soup.

RH> We use it for various things, sometimes just cutting it into "sticks"
RH> to go with a sandwich for lunch. It's also good, diced, with some
RH> onion, and added to herb bread for stuffing & broth for a quick stove
RH> top side to stretch out a supper meal.

DD> I use it in salads (meat or traditional), in chilli (to add body),
DD> stuffing/dressing, and soups. Also with peanut butter (yes, I know) or
DD> cream/pimiento cheese in the trough as a snack.

You're cooking for one; I'm cooking for 2.

RH> I can see why. Our Target has 2 entrance/exits but we usually don't go
RH> there. Other stores usually carry all we need; we do go to Target now
RH> and again for non grocery items tho.

DD> I used to. They were never a big deal for me with grocery items unless
DD> there was a "killer" sale on something I used regularly. But some of
DD> the other merch that I did use from them was located near the food.
DD> And they had an entrance (and check outs) on that end of the building.
DD> Easy to
DD> dash in, get your stuff, pay and beat feet for the next stop. But, no
DD> more. So, no more Dave as a customer.  Bv)=

DD> Wally-World groceries are a RIP-OFF. Especially the "fresh" meat - all
DD> of which has "up to 15% flavor enhancing solution added". I will be
DD> forever damned (as in condemned to the pit) if I'll pay meat prices
DD> for salt water.

RH> I don't get meat or produce at W-M; usually get toiletries, some
RH> foodstuffs (not their house brand canned goods), automotive/camper
RH> needs, etc.

DD> I don't care for their corporate culture since Sam Walton passed and
DD> his heirs turned their largess over to the avaricious bean-counters.
DD> So, I vote with my wallet and withhold my custom.

Sometimes they're the only place in town for something.

DD> They do quite well and they are employee owned and have a management
DD> team that has its finger on the pulse of the times. They've jsut added
DD> an "up-market" stupormarkup on the south-west corner of Spring-A-Leak
DD> (out where the $$$$ lives) and it's doing wuite well.

DD> https://www.goharvestmarket.com/locations/springfield-il/ and take a
DD> look at their specials. The prices are not out of line with the rest
DD> of my near-bys. But, like the C-F-A they're about as far from me as
DD> they can get and still be in town.  Bv)=  They put me in mind of the
DD> Wegman's "super" stores, w/mezzanine dining and live music sometimes.

RH> We don't have the mezzanine dining and live music at our Wegman's, just
RH> a lot of good foods. (G)

Our store isn't as big as the one in MD nor as small as the one in
Newark. Good sized--and busy all the time.
