24 September 1957 - EBBET'S FIELD BIDS FAREWELL TO THEIR BELOVED 'BUMS'
The Brooklyn Dodgers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-0 in a bittersweet
victory as the Dodgers plays their final game at Ebbet's Field. Just
two years after winning their first World Series, the team's been
bought and will be moving to Los Angeles, much to the chagrin of their
New York fans.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: The Original Brooklyn Egg Cream
Categories: Five, Beverages, Dairy
     Yield: 2 Servings

     2 c  Milk
   1/2 c  Seltzer *
   1/4 c  Fox's U-Bet chocolate syrup

 * from a pressurized bottle.

 Pour 1 cup of milk into a 12 oz glass. Top with a spritz
 of seltzer so that the white foam reaches the top of the
 glass. Place a spoon in the glass. Pour 2 tablespoons of
 the chocolate syrup into the glass, hitting the bottom of
 the spoon if possible, and stir with quick strokes to
 blend the syrup into the milk without deflating the foam.

 Repeat to make another egg cream. Serve immediately.

 Makes 2 servings.
