Hi Jim,

RH> If you ever get that far south, go to Mother's

JW> I certainly would.

And you most likely will not be disappointed in your meal.

RH> the way over (we walked from our hotel) we passed one of John Besh's
RH> restaurants; I've forgotten the name of it. Took a look at the menu
RH> posted outside--we paid for a full meal at Mother's less than what an
RH> appetiser at Besh's would have cost us.

JW> Well Mother's sells tasty, well made, simple food and lots of it,
JW> from a modest establishment whereas Besh offers a fine dining
JW> experience: either classic upper class Creole New Orleans dishes,
JW> contemporary French cuisine or prime steaks in well appointed dining
JW> rooms located in elegant five star hotels. He's one of your country's
JW> top chefs and one of his places was rated as being in the top 50 in
JW> the whole country. There's a world of difference.

Very much so; it would have been nice to try it but for some sort of
special occaision. Doubt we'll ever get back to NOLA but there are a lot
of places to eat there that are probly just as good, or better, for a
more reasonable price than Besh's.

RH> We both like shrimp and this is the time of year we do a lot of
RH> grilling........

JW>       Title: Creole Skewers with Mustard Butter
JW>  Categories: Creole, Appetizers, Grill, Sausage, Shrimp
JW>       Yield: 6 Servings

Looks interesting, might be something to try when we fire up the
charcoal grill.
