page in my local (what's left of it) newspaper for people I know/knew.
And I note people younger than me have fallen off their twig. OTOH, my
good friend and fellow chilli cook, Les, is 85 and just got married to
a *much* younger woman (mid-60s).

I is had several near misses including having my blood glucose crash to
the low 40s and having almost bled out (internally) due to an ulcer I
didn't know about that was caused by the Alleve I was taking for my
osteoarthritis pain. FEH!
I'm just enjoying it as it goes on.

Title: Boyar Funeral Zharkoye

Yield: 4 Servings
1/2 lb Beef
5 Potatoes
1 lg Onion
2 tb Butter
1 lg Carrot
1 Parsley root
1 Celery root
2 cl Garlic
1 tb Sour cream
2 tb Chopped dill & parsley
Salt & ground pepper
Peel potatoes, wash, cut into cubes and fry in butter
until light golden. Slice onion and fry in butter until
golden. Cut carrot into small cubes and fry in butter.
Cube beef and fry in butter until light brown. In a
ceramic pot, put beef, potatoes, onion, carrot, roots,
garlic, season with salt and pepper and pour over a
little broth.
Stew in the oven on average heat for 30 minutes. 10
minutes before, add sour cream and sprinkle with green.
Serve Zharkoye with salad from fresh vegetables,
pickles, sauerkraut and green.
