Put that way, yeah, there is indeed no cure.

That's pretty much my recipe except I don't add carrots.

I'd rather use toasted fine dry bread crumbs but Roslind likes the
cornflake crumb mixes so we do that occasionally too.

     Title: Andy Capp's Chicken Breading/Batter
     2 c  Andy Capp's Hot Fries;
          - coarse crushed

Not a familiar brand name here. I had to look that up. It turns out
that it's not sold in Canadian supermarkets. Amazon.ca has it at
$2.99 plus shipping for a 3 oz bag. No way I'm going to pay more
than a buck an ounce for processed starch! My upper limit for chips,
breakfast cereal, cookies and the like is $5 per pound. I generally
make my own. Flour is 50 cents a pound.

My latest home hack: adding vinegar to Bold HP sauce now that Heinz
has wrecked it and adding lemon juice to VH Chinese sweet and sour
sauce which Conagra has wrecked, then combining the two to make a
sauce for grilled pork chops and deep fried or shake & bake oven
roasted chicken.

Cheers

Jim
