Saturday, it just rushed by! I did get a bit of coding done and I'm satisfied
with the result. But I'm tired now, finished the stupid anime, and I will go to
bed soon. Maybe tomorrow I will stream some games, not sure which it will be.
Either it will Hotline Miami 2, Bioshock Infinite, Interstate '76 or Tropico 5.
Hotline Miami 2
It's 13:45, got through the high-rise that was the last episode in act 3, it was
not too bad now that I've tried a few times. Then there's a map in a subway, and
that was pretty crappy, well, the map itself was cool, and they introduced a new
type of enemy, an "alerter" that will make noise and attract other enemies,
that's an interesting idea. Unfortunately, the map itself was pretty buggy, and
I actually walked outside of the map by accident, and worse, so did the enemies,
and then they shot into the map from outside! But I got through that one and
went back to the war-zone mission, it seems fun enough.
Razer Seiren
This microphone looks way better than it is, I've had mine for over a year now,
and it's been achieving much worse than I'd expect from such an expensive piece
of kit. The primary problem is that the most useful modes (omni and front) are
haunted by terrible noise in the higher frequencies. I've put a file online to
demonstrate this. I should mention that this is the SECOND Seiren I have, the
first one didn't work at all because the USB connector was defective from the
factory (something Razer support didn't even consider, they just told me "we do
not support Linux", well, turned out it also didn't work on Windows).. So, I've
had some complaints about this sound on my stream before, but I've not been able
to prove that it was really the mic that did it.. Now I have proof! So I want to
put a message to Razer: Fuck you. You're raking in money, at least build proper
stuff. Next time I guess I'll have to go for real professional studio gear, just
to get proper audio. The world would be a nicer place if companies weren't
selling this useless shit to everyone. I do understand there's a difference
between consumer and industry-grade stuff, but the difference should be one of
"how many tanks can I drive over this" and "how many times better is this than
it really needs to be", not "utterly broken"/"barely functional" and "works but
will cost you an arm and leg". There's no gradient in the available quality..
Games
Played some more Tropico 5, it's fun, and I got my ass kicked in one of the
earlier levels, twice, so I decided it was time for a break, and then I couldn't
keep myself back from buying Factorio any longer, and damn I'm glad I did.
It's awesome! I've played it for several hours now, it's everything I love about
the IndustrialCraft mod for Minecraft, the graphics are charming, performance
is awesome and it's just so much fun trying to figure out how to get stuff to
work together. I didn't try the scenario, just the "get rocket" mode, and it'd
be worth every cent if that was the only mode. But it's getting late so..
