Weirdness explained
So, a git pre-commit hook stashed workspace before doing some checks, and
me aborting that script left my (unadded) changes in the stash, and I never
use the stash. Compression must have prevented me from grepping for the files,
but long story short, I got my files back.

Socialising
After work we went for beer, had a great time and got drunkish.
