This book is an ethnographic study of architectural and engineering
professional identity through its relation to computer simulations. Loukissas
focuses on practices in the US and UK, specifically Ove Arup, with a program of
extensive interviews. His background in in architecture, design computation,
and social science research with a PhD from MIT Architecture (Sherry Turkle was
on his board). He currently teaches at Georgia Tech. in their Digital Media
program.
