ever since i got x220 and moved to using desktop as my main pc, i feel
like any laptop i use or will use will be a compromise

i have already made a mistake getting random post-education chromebook
and just having endless disappointment, not really a point in writing
an article as it would be just logistics story about how audio drivers
for these devices suck

a perfect laptop form-factor for me is the late 90s subnotebooks such as

- hp omnibook 800ct (what a beauty, please stop reading and look at it now)
- gateway handbook 486

of course, these no longer exist, and we have to deal with compromises

i am writing this article to clear my thoughts and be aware of what i need

what am i looking for:
- less than 11 inch screen (i love old netbooks, a shame their batteries are lol)
- semi good battery life
- good linux support
- below 150 quid used
- available in europe
- non hi res screen (i hate 2k)
- attached keyboard

i need this features as i use laptops where i travel, and as i need to
have work and private laptop, any gram of size is an annoyance

also small laptops are just cooler

this feels borderline impossible, as the size makes stuff very difficult

## considerations:

- lenovo duet (i am kinda open to the mess that is linux chromebooks)

- surface go 3 (it is supposedly alright, although i distrust microsoft)

- thinkpad x131e (cpu too old sadly, so will have all inefficiencies of
that hellish era)

- idk aliexpress strangenes i just want to avoid

- not raspberry pi

## why not gpd, mnt, other:

i simply do not trust enthusiast gadget ware, will write article on that later

please feel free to contact me if you find anything interesting that
i could consider
