Vacay, day 1

Not carrying a laptop was a good and bad choice.

From one side It is nice not to carry around such items when travelling alone
with a toddler. From the other I would like to use it now, and I'm stuck with
using the uncomfortable keyboard of my phone.

I brought with me a USB drive loaded with a live distro with persistence,
and a second luks-encrypyed drive containing stuff like gpg and ssh
keys. The idea being of turning the occasional borrowed computer into
a Linux machine, of course.

Using it now is feasible, as nobody is using the PC but the phone keyboard,
however uncomfortable, can be operated under the sheets of my bed. This makes
it is by far more appealing than reaching that cold room.

I love my parents, but this place is always so cold, and I never find what I
need. I always end up thinking I should keep a little supply of everyday goods
hidden somewhere, as we already do for our kid, as a matter of fact.

Another thing I'm increasingly allergic to is my mother's persistent
hammering away at her religious beliefs, mixed with politics and plot
theories.  It gets worse with time.  I'm more and more convinced that the
people she firmly believes in are just a bunch of scammers.  The day
they will be exposed will be a great one.  I'm not sure if in positive
or negative terms.
