Enjoing some free time

Once again, our son is sleeping. Me and my wife are chilling out:
she's on the sofa watching some tv series, while I'm sitting on the
kitchen table, typing on my old Thinkpad.  The house is cozy and
silent.  The cat is sitting next to me, and I'm sipping some Earl
Grey.

Yesterday evening I was also sitting here, but the mood was not
right, and I ended up wasting my free time.  I say "wasting" because
I often feel like I should make the best of my free time, given
that it is a precious asset.  I should really keep in mind that it
is OK not to be creative, in one's free time.  After all, one's
perception of what is useful is -indeed- just a perception.

With that being said, tonight I'd like to program in C.

My dayjob is progressing quite well lately.  I know a few useful
tricks with Yocto now, and I'm getting better at understanding
certain technical documentation, since I'm more comfortable with
some of the jargon.

The only downside is that I seldomly write software!  And you might
remember that (thus spake the master programmer) "After three days
without programming, life becomes meaningless"[1].

So, it is time to improve the little tool that I use to groom this
phlog.

Soon I'll be publishing this tool on this website, together with a
few other personal projects, that I would like to host myself.
